Carr Raymond Lavern Carr, 76, passed away August 8, 2003 in Austin, Texas. Born February 19, 1927 in Canadian, Texas to Laura and Richard Carr, he graduated from Central High School in Oklahoma City in 1945. He served in the US Army, attended Oklahoma A&M and graduated from Oklahoma City University. He married Dolores Brogan in 1948. Raymond was part owner of the Dale Ray Jewelry Company, which became a part of John Roberts Ring Manufacturing Company in Norman, Oklahoma. The family moved to Austin, Texas in 1972. He held various management positions including that of President before retiring in 1985 from Art Carved Class Ring Manufacturing Co. in Austin, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his devoted wife, Dolores, and three children: daughter Holly and her husband Geoff Morgan, son Craig and his wife Pat, and son Todd. Raymond is also survived by his five grandchildren, Rachael Carr, Laura and Kelsey Morgan, and Steven and Jimmy Carr, and by his sister, Betty Fox, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 9th from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held in Austin on Sunday, August 10th at 2:00 p.m. at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home with the Reverend John McMullen officiating. Graveside services will be on Tuesday, August 12th at 10:00 a.m. at Resurrection Cemetery Chapel in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Hahn Cook Funeral Home will provide burial services in Oklahoma City.
