Michael Dudley, 74, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana died Thursday, March 29, 2012 of Kidney Cancer in Austin, Texas.

He was born in Southampton, England to the late Harry and Edna Dudley on Feb. 19, 1938. Michael studied aerospace engineering at Southampton University and graduated in 1958.

Along with his former wife, Ann C. Murray, he moved to the U.S. in 1966 to further his career in Aerospace and Marine Engineering. After spending most of his career working on the Lockheed C5A, Naval surface effect ships, and the Space Shuttle's external tank, he retired from Lockheed Martin and moved to Baton Rouge in 2005, shortly after Hurricane Katrina hit the city of New Orleans.

Michael is survived by two children: Karen Dudley Balentine of Austin, TX and John Michael Dudley of Jackson, MS and three grandchildren: Victoria Ann Balentine, Braden Nelson Dudley, and James Nathan Balentine. He is also survived by many relatives in England: his two younger sisters, Janine Rosemary Coleman and Margaret Edna Jackson; two nephews, three great nieces, and one great nephew.

Visitation will be at 3:15 p.m. and services at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, March 30, 2012 in the Chapel at Weed-Corley-Fish Lake Travis.
