Marylou Stone age 74 of Austin passed away on Friday, May 4, 2012 She was born in Harrisburg, PA on January 19, 1938, daughter of Julia K. (Wilt) and Allen O. Sharon. She attended Steelton PA. schools, graduating in 1955. She attended Penn Hall Jr. College in Chambersburg, PA., married John Robert Stone on July 28, 1956. Devoted mother of four children, she loved gardening, decorating, cooking, and creating things for her family.
She was always concerned with service to others and donated her time to various organizations over the years, including the Royersford Business and Professional Women's Club, Order of the Eastern Star, Grace Lutheran Church, and various church-sponsored thrift stores. In addition to raising her family she helped her husband run his funeral businesses in Spring City and Royersford, PA.
After her family moved to Texas in 1978, she earned an LVN degree in 1981. She worked as a geriatric nurse at several nursing home facilities in Texas. She and her husband, Bob lived in a variety of Texas cities, including Austin, McAllen, Como, and Rockport.
Marylou is survived by her husband, J. Robert Stone of Austin, Texas; four children, Ginger Dilan and her husband Pete Dilan of Pflugerville, Texas; J. Robert Stone Jr. and his wife Carol of Cypress, Texas, Shelbie Simmons of Plano, Texas and Brian Stone and his wife Rebecca of Aledo, Texas; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sisters, Julia Ann Shover and Nancy Lee Stone both of Pennsylvania
Memorial Services will be held at Resurrection Lutheran Church in Plano, Texas at a later date.
