Kenny was a big part of my life for a long time. The first time I met him he was wearing a puka shell necklace on that football neck! We had many good times with John and Jennifer. We moved to Boston together, and although we went different ways eventually, we kept in touch. He came to visit me and was so kind to my kids. KR was a friend to all he met. There must be a special place in heaven for people like him.

just a few weeks after my husband died, I met Ken on a train, and in that short ride, he lightened my way in the world. He asked if the seat next to me was taken and when I saw him smiling down at me, I couldn't say no. The conductor punched his ticket, saying with a wink, "If he weren't so handsome, you would've claimed this seat was taken; and if you weren't such a flower, he wouldn't have asked for it."

That broke the ice and started a conversation, sometimes deep and sometimes hilarious, that lasted from New York City to Hartford. In three hours, we got to know a lot about each other. I learned that he was exactly my age and spent his early childhood in a town I'd never heard of in the same county in which I had grown up. I thought that was odd, and for a second or two, I had a crazy thought that maybe Ken BOB ROBERTS might be an angel sent to fool with me by my late husband ROBERT. When I told Ken, I'd been in love with my husband since I was 17, he told me I was lucky to have had such a good long run. Yes, I was, and I try to look at things that way now.

What I know without a doubt was how much Ken's family meant to him. I heard how close he felt to you, and what a kick he got out of his nieces and how much he was looking forward to seeing you all at Trinity College's graduation. I hope it was a great day.

I hope he wasn't sick. We didn't talk about that. And he thought we'd be in touch. I hope he went suddenly with no pain and few regrets. I could get on a plane and learn more - how he died and who he was to others, but Texas is a long way from VT and I don't have the fortitude for another good man's memorial. So godspeed, all of you.

I am so sorry to hear this news and I just saw it in the Austin paper moments ago. We lost a fine man here and Mel and I hope he is at peace with the Lord. Kenny was a fine American sports fan and we will miss him.

I was shocked when I received word while in London last week on vacation with family and wanted to write but had limited access across the pond.
Ken's smile and memory will last in our minds and hearts for those of his family and those of us doing business and lucky enough to be friends of his.

Event though our friendship was business related we talked about life as it was and what will the future would bring. He worked hard for his team and customers. he will be truly missed.

I've known Kenny Bob almost my whole life. (I'm only 8 years old.) He gave me my first piece of chocolate and a giant teddy bear. He taught me how to jump and how to play football. He would always sneak me some junk food when my mom wasn't looking. He also got me my first golf club and a puppy named Frankie Boy. He was my mom's best friend and we used to visit him a lot. I love him and miss him.
