Kathleen Wright was born October 10, 1911, in Kerr County, and passed away on August 19, 2003, in Smithville, Texas. On August 8, 1940, she married Claude William Wright, Jr., and they lived in Austin for over 50 years. When he passed away April 14, 1991, she moved into Bastrop Nursing Center, where she lived for the past ten years. Kathleen’s hobbies included hunting, fishing, and many hours of arts and crafts. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family. She loved reading the 23rd Psalm. Survivors include three nieces, Kathy Markwardt and husband, Arvis, of Lincoln, Janie Olfers and husband Barry, of Austin, and Charlene Jones, of Pflugerville; and numerous great nieces and nephews, Wray Hopper, of Austin, Lance and Sherry Gibson, of Denton, Dale Christal, of Austin, James and Erin Marburger, of Dime Box, Patrick Hooper, of Stonewall, Rodney Markwardt, of Lincoln, Brenda Marburger, of Pflugerville, and Sara Alice Bowling, of Austin. She is also survived by great-great nieces and nephews, Harley Johnson, of Lincoln, Blake Gibson, of Denton, R.J. Markwardt and Alyssa Markwardt, of Bastrop. Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday, at Wilke-Clay-Fish Funeral Home. Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 22, 2003, at Capital Memorial Park, Pflugerville, Texas, Reverend Ed Schwanke as officiant.
