Julia Mary Paczkowski, 91, better known to her great-grandchildren as "Grandma Julie", left peacefully to be with the Lord in Heaven on Sunday, June 17, 2012. Julia was born on May 17, 1921.
Julia was the loving and devoted mother of two sons, Richard Paczkowski of Cavendish, Vt. And Donald Paczkowski of Lakeway, Texas both of whom, along with their spouses Sandra and Diedra, respectively, will miss her greatly. Also surviving her passing is her twin sister, Irene Graham, who resides in Virginia. She is preceded in death by her husband of sixty-three years, John Paczkowski, to whom she was a soul-mate and loving care-giver in his later years. Surviving her passing, in addition, are five grandchildren (Andrew Paczkowski of Cavendish, VT; Thomas Paczkowski of Van Nuys, CA; Daniel Paczkowski of Croatia; Craig Paczkowski of Wilmington, MA; Tracy Paczkowski McCreight of Austin, TX) and eight great-grandchildren.
Born on Staten Island, New York, Julia spent many years in Massachusetts and Vermont before moving to Lakeway five years ago. Pleased and content wherever she was, she especially loved her time in Vermont where she resided with her loving husband John prior to his death and enjoyed the striking mountain scenery. While a homemaker to the end, Julia loved her time with family, friends and the contemporary service at The Lakeway Church. She was especially thrilled by the 90th birthday party given in her honor by her family. A gentle and kind woman, she exemplified the grit, values and determination of the "greatest generation".
The Paczkowski family would like to offer special thanks to the amazing array of caregivers who helped Julia pass from this life painlessly and peacefully at home including Betty Doty, Hospice of the Hills, Right at Home Caregivers, and to our many friends who gave her so much love and kindness.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 1 at 3:00 p.m. at The Lakeway Church, 2203 Lakeway Blvd.
Contributions in lieu of flowers are requested to be sent to the Lake Travis Crisis Ministries, 107 FM 620 South, #114, Lakeway, TX 78734.
