I called Jim and asked if I could put a fire place in the center of the dining room with french doors on each side. He said he would thinkabout it and if I did not hear from him in a month to call him back. Not sure if my wish was to happen, I went outside to a trailer where my office was to ponder. No sooner that I got there the phone rang. It was Jim and he said to go ahead with the plans that I wanted for the dining room. Jim was wonderful and to this day, I love telling that story.

How I wish I could have met Mr. McCarver, but it was not to be. I am so sorry to hear of his passing.May the many memories that he created give his wife and family much strength and comfort.
I would also like to send my appreciation of his life and of his service to our country.

Jim is one of the kindest people I ever met. He was tough in business, when he needed to be, but he always maintained the placidness of a man who is comfortable with himself. He influenced me by his example, and I am sure that he influenced others similarly. Jim had a strong faith that showed in everything he did. I admired him very much, and I will miss him terribly.

As I think about it, I must give some credit to him for my career development. I worked for the state agency in Florida with the Certificate of Need program. They created a new position to provide additional financial analysis due to the complexity of previous applications which I understand were filed by Mr McCarver. When I started my accounting practice in 1988 I did work for his facilities in Florida and have been involved directly or indirectly eversense.
My thoughts and condolences go out to Pat and family and friends. I know he will be greatly missed. We were blessed to have him here.

I am sorry to hear of the sudden loss of Mr. McCarver. I am honored to have worked with Jim over the last eight years. I hope that you find strength in your memories of him and the good work the Foundation he founded will continue to do in the future. Remembering Jim is the best tribute that one can offer as he joins his Lord and maker. Those who knew him were touched by his inspiration, guidance and kindness. He had a vision and compassion in his feeling for mankind that will succeed him. I am so personally grateful for the time that he was able to share with me.
