Our beloved Telontina (Tina) Nicolasa Nuz Esquivel, 81, of Oak Hill, Texas passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2019, at her home, lovingly surrounded by her children and their families.

Tina was born in Oak Hill, Texas on September 10, 1937. Tina was married to Edward Louis Esquivel, Sr. on March 8, 1954. They were married for 31 years, until Edward's death on December 10, 1985.

Tina fulfilled a dream she had from the age of 13 to work for the government. She became a full-time employee of IRS on December 1968, and retired after dedicating 29 years. She went on to fulfill another dream of working part-time in the church office San Jose Catholic Church as its archivist. Tina loved devoting time to her family and enjoyed contributing to the various ministries by creating rosaries and baptism bibs.

Tina is survived by her children, Edward Esquivel, Jr and his wife Bea, Andy Esquivel and his wife Lana, Michael Esquivel and his wife Terry, Rachel Maldonado, Angel Lorenzana and her husband Jorge, Maggie Moreno and her husband Joe, Frank Esquivel and his wife Roxane, Ami Pruneda and her husband Javier; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Beatrice Valdez, Bertha Salinas, Modesta Nuz, Natalie Gonzalez, Nancy Martinets; brothers, Frank Nuz and Victor Nuz.

Tina is preceded in death by her husband, Edward Louis Esquivel, Sr., her infant daughter, Cecilia, her grandson, Michael Daniel Esquivel; her parents, Francisco Nuz and Maria Constancia Cavazos Nuz and her sister, Rosie Nappa.

Visitation 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm on Sunday, February 3, 2019 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 2620 S. Congress Ave. Austin, Texas 78704 with Recitation of the Holy Rosary to begin at 7:00 pm.

There will be a Mass Service on Monday, February 4, 2019 at San Jose Catholic Church, 2536 Oak Crest Ave, Austin, Texas 78704 at 10:00 am, with a reception immediately following the mass at the church reception hall.

In honor of Tina's wishes, her remains will be cremated.
