Sheldon Marvin Tucker MD, of Austin, Tx, was born in Chicago, Illinois to parents Ned and Sadye Tucker on October 15, 1920. He passed away on Tuesday, October 23 at the age of 98.

Sheldon graduated from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in 1944. He was president of the Alpha chapter, University of Illinois medical fraternity, Phi Lambda Kappa. He did his medical internship at the Jersey City Medical Center and his residency at Edgewater Hospital, Chicago, Illinois. From 1946-1948, Sheldon served as a captain in the U.S. Army Medical Corps stationed in South Korea.

For many years, Sheldon practiced medicine as a family physician and surgeon in Houston, Texas. During that time, he served as Organizing Director of Central National Bank. Sheldon began his involvement with the fine arts, both as an artist and fine arts collector. He won many awards for his paintings and had numerous exhibits of both his own work and his extensive art collection. He, with his wife Corinne Tucker, operated GalerieT and T&L RR, both located in Houston, Texas. Sheldon enjoyed being with his family and spent many happy years fishing and boating along the Gulf Coast of Texas.

Sheldon was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Enid Sepkowitz, and his loving wife Corinne Tucker. He leaves his children Terry Saleh, Gail Massey and husband Michael, Wendy Lione and husband John. Also surviving are grandchildren Jaime Saleh, Tracey Saleh Shursen, Ryan Lione and Kacey Monnet. He was fortunate, as well, to have the love of 6 great-grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by all.
