Sandra ("Sandy") Kroger passed away Sunday, 21 October in Austin, TX. Her loving husband of sixty years Harry Kroger, and her three children, Charles, John and Carolyn were at her side.

She was born in Queens, New York City and grew up in the Richmond Hill area of Queens, graduated from Bucknell University in 1957 with a degree in elementary education and then married her high school sweetheart in 1958, at Union Congregational Church in Richmond Hill.

She deeply valued her family and cherished times spent with her children and grandchildren. Getting the family together for fun and good times made many of her happiest memories.

Family and friends were always important to her, and she leaves behind many friends from Sudbury, MA; Binghamton, NY; Venice, FL as well as Austin Texas; where she and Harry lived for the past four years and previously from 1983-1992. Sandy enjoyed being a Cub Scout Leader, a Girl Scout Leader and active in the Sudbury United Methodist Church. In the late 1970s and into the 1980s she worked as a realtor in Massachusetts and in Texas. Sandy enjoyed being a Steven Minister with the Venice Presbyterian Church for several years and volunteering for Habitat for Humanity. She was highly skilled at crosswords and Scrabble. Sandra was an avid bridge player, playing regularly with friends at Longhorn Village.

Traveling with her husband was always a joy. Together they visited Alaska, Hawaii, Japan, Brazil, and many countries in Europe.

She is survived by her husband, Harry Kroger, of Austin; son Charles and daughter-in-law Sara Kroger of St. Paul, Minnesota; son John and daughter-in-law Christina Kroger of Peru, Maine; and daughter Carolyn and son-in-law Jim Estes of Austin, Texas.

She leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Alyssa Estes of Austin, Texas; Mara and husband John Osowiecki, Brennan Kroger, Jesse Kroger, Matthias Kroger, Gabriella Kroger, Stefan, Othniel, Nicholas and Christoph Kroger of Peru, Maine. She is also survived by her beautiful great granddaughter, Clara Osowiecki. She also leaves behind her cousin Louella and husband Terry Goldstein of West Chester, PA.

Her family will receive visitors at Weed-Corley-Fish Lake Travis Chapel from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 1, 2018. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Forty-Acre Room at Longhorn Village on Friday, November 2, 2018 at 3 PM.
