Dr. Rudy Lee Ingersoll, 74, of Austin, Texas, died peacefully from a long battle with Parkinson's and Dementia on November 21, 2017.

He was born in Brady, Texas December 31, 1942, but raised in San Antonio, Texas. Rudy attended Baylor University and then Baylor Medical where he graduated with honors.

Rudy served as a Captain in the Vietnam War and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal.

He practiced Dentistry for many years and worked in the technologies and medical fields. He was instrumental in working with NASA's Satellite program and Dr. Debakey's left ventricular heart device.

He married Christie Covert Ingersoll in 1996 and they had a wonderful life together traveling, playing golf, working together in Real Estate and enjoying their many dogs, friends and family.

Rudy treasured cooking and entertaining for family and friends. He enjoyed hiking and always found the majestic mountains of Colorado beautiful. Rudy was a writer and loved to tell stories and write poems. He never new a stranger and always made one laugh.

Rudy is survived by his wife, Christie Covert Ingersoll; mother-in-law Helen Covert; brother-in-law Clark Covert; brother-in-law George Covert and wife Laura Covert; nieces Cameron Covert and Caroline Covert; nephew Conley Covert and wife Jaclyn Covert; and nephew Austin Covert.

We will miss you Rudy Lee!

The family would like to thank Barton Hills Assisted Living, Hospice Austin, Paul Estrada and Mary Gill for all their wonderful care over the years.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, November 27, 2017 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home on North Lamar.
