Mr. Robert R. (Bob) Jones was born in Houston to Robert Raeburn Jones and Bertha Janett Jones. He was 71years of age when he died on Friday, August 14, 2015. After graduating from Bay City High School Bob served in the US Navy Reserve.
Bob Jones earned a Bachelor of Fine arts degree in Studio Art and Art Education as well as a Master's degree in Sculpture and Art History from the University of Texas at Austin. He was an instructor of Studio Art at the University of Texas, Texas Lutheran University, and Tierra Vista Montessori.
Additionally, he was an award winning artist in many local, state and national competitive exhibitions. He had many years work experience as a Museum Exhibition Designer and Technical Staff Coordinator at the Huntington Art Gallery on the campus of UT Austin.
After his retirement from UT, Bob and his wife opened Bob Creek Studio and Art Gallery on their beloved fifteen acres in the beautiful hill country west of Austin. There the two flourished as a couple,
as artists, and as nature lovers extraordinaire. Bob will be truly missed and remembered for being kind, thoughtful, and generous by all who were fortunate to spend time with him. He is survived by his loving wife of twenty two years, Janice Anderson.
