Obituary for Randy Lee Hinkle

July 21, 1960 - July 9, 2017
Spicewood, Texas | Age 56

Randy Lee Hinkle, 56, passed away Sunday, July 9, 2017. He was born in Elyria, Ohio July 21, 1960 to Theodore Kohler Hinkle and Anna Bogatschow Hinkle. Randy graduated in 1978 from Southview High School in Lorain. He worked several jobs in the declining Ohio economy before following his older sister to Texas. It was in Texas that he perfected his auto body technician skills working at shops in the Beaumont, Austin, and Grapevine areas. Twelve years ago he moved to the place of his dreams, his home on the Pedernales River.

Randy loved the lake and everything about it: boating, fishing, jet-skiing and sharing it with his family. He was a kind, loving and generous man with a dry sense of humor. A man of resilience, Randy would bounce back with vigor from the tough times. He was a fireworks enthusiast and loved the Fourth of July. No project was too large or too small for him from fixing a flat tire to building a deck and dock for his home on the lake. He was a Master Technician and at the time of his death worked at Covert Collision Center.

Randy is survived by his parents, Anne and Ted Hinkle of North Ridgeville, Ohio, his wife, Lucretia Clark of Spicewood, his son, Todd Michael Hinkle and daughter, Tomi Clark, both of Austin, his sisters, Sandy and her husband Mike Hinkle-Morrison of Colleyville, TX and DeAnna and her husband Allen Afrates of Lorain, Ohio.

A memorial service will be held July 29 at 10 am at the Lake Travis Weed-Corley-Fish Event Center, 411 Ranch Road 620 South, Lakeway. A reception will be held following the service at the Event Center for all who wish to celebrate Randy's life with his family.
