On June 30, she went home to be with her Lord. Phyllis was the eldest of three children; she had two brothers, Conrad Coleman Hall and Dennie Herbert Hall, Jr.

Her family lived in Grayson, Kentucky, where she attended Prichard High School. Her Father was the Circuit Court Clerk for Carter County. After graduating from High School, in 1949, Phyllis attended Cumberland College, in Williamsburg, Kentucky, where she met her Husband, Robert Kenneth Jones.

Phyllis and Robert were married in San Francisco, California, on August 31, 1951. In 1954, Phyllis went to visit with her family in Kentucky, where she gave birth to their first child, Denise, in Ashland, Kentucky. In 1955, Phyllis returned with Robert to Kentucky, where they had their second child, Cheryl. By 1958, Phyllis had all four of her children: Denise, Cheryl, Jana, and Robert, Jr.

She was living in Baltimore, Maryland, where her husband was working as an Engineer at the Martin Company. In 1960, Phyllis returned to Kentucky with her family, as Robert had procured a job with IBM, in Lexington. She remained in Lexington with her family for 10 years. During that time, Phyllis completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce at the University of Kentucky, and worked as a Substitute Teacher in Lexington. In 1970, IBM was opening new facilities in Austin, Texas, and the family moved to Austin, where they have remained since. Phyllis worked as a High School Business and VOE Teacher in Austin from 1972 to 1987; in 1987, she retired.

Phyllis is survived by her daughters, Cheryl Jones and Jana Marsden; son, Robert Jones and wife Judy; grandchildren, Carmel, Joanna, Traci, Jamie, Kristin, Casey, Trey, Ty, and Travis; great-grandchildren, Julia, Joshua, Payton, Karli, Connor, Declan, Ben and Jaxon.
