Patricia Frances Nygard of Austin, Texas passed away on February 27, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Patricia was born on January 12, 1932, the daughter of the late William and Lydia (Berg) Parolari in Iron River Michigan. She grew up in Iron River and married her sweetheart John Marvin Nygard in 1950.
She was a lifelong housewife and was dedicated to nurturing her family and loved ones. She made the best home cooked meals, was an expert seamstress, enjoyed decorating and caring for her many dachshunds. Especially her favorite, Misty. After John's thirty year career with IBM, John and Pat spent their remaining time together enjoying their grandchildren, traveling and visiting friends and relatives.
Patricia is survived by her son Reid Nygard and wife Fanny of Houston, daughter Patricia and husband Rick Travis of Pflugerville; grandchildren, John Travis of Hutto, Kaitlin and husband Patrick Williams of Kyle, Anthony Nygard of Houston, Chris Nygard and his wife Casey of Austin; great grandchildren, Hadley and Nash Nygard of Austin. Patricia is preceded in death by her husband, John Marvin Nygard, son Gregory John Nygard, infant brother Billy and sisters Katheryn Fiorani, Joan Labay, Lila Paque and Virginia Masuga.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 3125 N. Lamar Blvd. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Austin Memorial Park, 2800 Hancock Drive, with Pastor Dean Busboom Officiating.
