Obituary

Octavio S. Flores Jr. 87, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away on Saturday September 22, 2018 at his home in Austin Texas.' Beto ' was born to Octavio and Fannie Flores on December 5, 1930 in McAllen, Texas. He joined the U.S. Army in 1947 and served in South Korea Vietnam, Germany, Chicago, El Paso Texas, Panama, and San Antonio, Texas where he met and married Hettie June Anderson who was a member of the WAC's. He specialized in Linguistics, speaking seven different languages, which he utilized in Intelligence adviser capacity. He retired in 1970 with rank of Master Sergeant. In the years following he managed his father's bar named " Flores Bar "and was the main gate guard at the Citgo West Plant in Corpus Christi Texas.

Preceded in death by his parents, Octavio and Fannie; his first wife, Hettie; daughters, Susan Lynn and Sheryl Ann; granddaughter, Kelli Kaye; Anita's children, Melida Ann Rodriguez, Michael Lopez.

Octavio is survived by his second wife, Anita Caballero Flores; children, Suzanne White and her husband Tim, Stephanie Flores, Anita Glaze and her husband Monty, Debra Collyar, Michael Anthony Flores; Anita Caballero Flores' children, Frank Rodriguez and wife Bertha, Ruby Jr. Raymond Rodriguez, Jo Ann Lopez Torres, Irma Linda Wall and her husband Lyle; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 2620 South Congress Ave. in Austin.

Funeral service be at 10:00 am, Thursday, October 11, 2018 in the Weed-Corley Fish Chapel.

Interment will be at 1:30 pm Thursday, October 11, 2018 at Ft Sam Houston, San Antonio, Texas.
