Obituary

Mildred "Milly" Reynolds was born in 1927 in Brenham, Texas. The daughter of a mechanic and a homemaker, she excelled in tennis, and had ambitions beyond her small town. She moved to Austin and attended Seton School of nursing and became an RN. She met and married a WWII vet named, James Robert Reynolds IV. During their courtship they enjoyed swing dancing to music from the jukebox.

They had three sons and then a daughter. Milly was involved in Scouting as a den mother and then a troop leader. She was an amazing woman who worked nights and, along with her husband, made time for her children's wellbeing.

She was a career nurse. She was Night Supervisor at Saint David's Hospital until her retirement. Sometime later she became a nurse at Monte Siesta Nursing Home and Rehab.

Milly had other interests. She enjoyed watching Figure Skating, Spurs games, Dancing with the Stars, and was a fan of Roger Federer. Milly also enjoyed quilting at her church, Holy Cross Lutheran. She was a favorite among the ladies there. That was her Wednesday outing.

Milly left this world Tuesday to be with her husband Jim, and her parents, Henry and Louise.

She is survived by her sister, Helen Edwards, also a retired RN, who resides in Arkansas; her sons, Jim, John, and Jerry Reynolds, and their spouses; her daughter, Nancy Wilde; six grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 am – 11:00 am on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 2620 South Congress with Funeral Service to begin at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
