Plus numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends that she loved dearly.

Maxyne worked at Austin Community College for 34 years. She retired in 2015.

Maxyne's greatest achievement was being the glue that held her family together. She was the matriarch. She was the Queen Bee. She was the Queen Mother. She loved her family above all else. She was adamant about attending (and being punctual!) for Sunday dinners and holiday celebrations at her house. Friends (both 2-legged and 4-legged) were always welcome but they had to be on time. Some of the greatest and most memorable times were created around her dining room table. No matter the occasion, Laughter was always on the menu.

Maxyne was one of the sweetest people on the planet. Some of her greatest qualities were acceptance, tolerance without judgement, and the ability to love unconditionally. She could also be stubborn as a mule.

Maxyne's favorite hobbies included crocheting, knitting, and needlepoint. She especially enjoyed making baby blankets for family, friends, acquaintances, and anyone who needed one. Her favorite activities included spending time with the kids and grandkids, going out to lunch with her girlfriends and watching Netflix on TV.

She loved animals and always spoiled her furry 4-legged children. Ironically, her 19 year old poodle, Lollipop, passed away just several hours after Maxyne. Both will be missed, but it's comforting to know they are together.

A very special THANK YOU to the nurses and staff at the Heart Hospital of Austin for their extraordinary care and compassion.

She raised some bad-ass kids too. Peace and Love to all.
