Obituary

Maureen Jessica Gerke, age 79, of Austin, Texas, died on December 12th, 2017, surrounded by her family at home. She was born on August 25th, 1938, in London, England. Maureen was an entrepreneur and owned many businesses in her lifetime, including, her beauty salon, My Fair Lady, Stars and Stripes Daycare, and her Real Estate business with Keller Williams. Maureen received her Real Estate License in 1972, and Real Estate Brokers License/ CRS designation in 1976. Real Estate was a passion of hers and she received many real estate awards during her career. Her Keller Williams family meant the world to her.

On July 4th, 1976, with great joy Maureen gained her U.S. Citizenship. Maureen was a member of the Riverbend Church. She was also a member of the Red Hats in Austin, Texas. Maureen loved the Texas coast, and going to Port Aransas with her family. She loved to fish with her husband Clifford and treasure hunt on the beach. Maureen and her husband also shared a passion for gardening. Together they created a beautiful garden/sanctuary in their backyard that you would have to see to believe! She loved spending time with her family and friends and giving advice and guidance when she could. Maureen had a passion for business and life. She has imparted her kindness and grace among all those she touched in her lifetime. The lessons she taught us were to be kind and love unconditionally. Her kindness could only be outmatched by her strength. She was a fighter, and true role model of the way life should be lived. She was an amazing woman, and our Queen.

Maureen is surpassed in death by her mother, Edith White, her father, Frederick Purdy, and her husband, Clifford E. Gerke.

She is survived by her two daughters, Michele Parker and Tina Ueltschey; her son and his wife, Carl Gerke and Phyllis Gerke; four grandchildren, Mandi Miller, Matthew Miller, Shanna Ueltschey, and Brandy Ueltschey; and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Carole Paydo, her husband Thomas Paydo, and two nephews Shaun and Chad Paydo, and Susan Harris and two nephews, Mark and Aaron Harris.
