Leonila "Betty" Lopez, passed away Friday, May 4, 2018. Born in Luling, Texas, March 23, 1936, to Enrique (Henry) & Julia Lopez

"Betty" as she was lovingly known, was an AMAZING person, Mom, Grandma, Great Grandma,Tia, Madrina, and Dad very lovingly called her "Han".

She may have been small in stature, but she made a HUGE presence in the life of everyone she met. Mom & Dad's home was always open and their Love for everyone was unconditional. Mom & Dad's passions were first & foremost, their love for each other, their children & family. Their other passions were Bingo & Casino's (Viva Las Vegas & Weesie).

Mom & Dad were the core of the family, meaning there were no "In-Law", we were/are simply "Family", the same goes for the many, many friends. To Mom & Dad, every friend was "family".

Dad would always say, "I'm the richest man in the world". He certainly wasn't talking about money or high-end material items, he was referring to the Love, Respect & Family that he and Mom were/are blessed with. I know I'm mentioning Dad a lot, when this should be about Mom,

However, I'm sure everyone would agree, that Mom & Dad are a Set, so it is impossible to speak of one them, without including the other. Their Love & Devotion for each other was strong and everlasting. Once a couple of years ago, Mom said, "I'm still married to your Dad", his death has not changed that for me".
Mom's role in life was to help people. Each job she had, involved helping others. At each job, in addition to fulfilling her duties very well, she always became the, unofficial, Social Worker & Counselor & the one friend that you could always depend on.

Mom is now in Heaven with Dad, celebrating Eternal Love & Life. Love Ya Mom & Dad.

There will be a visitation for Betty from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm Tuesday, May 8, 2018,with a 7:00 pm Rosary at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 2620 South Congress.
