Lee D. Cutrone, Jr. passed away in Austin, Texas on October 30, 2017 after a lengthy illness. He was born on May 19, 1947 in Fairmont, West Virginia, the son of the late Lee D. and Beatrice (Israel) Cutrone.

Lee was a 1969 graduate of Fairmont State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree where he was named Alumnus of Achievement in 1996. He received a Masters in Public and International Affairs at the University of Pittsburgh in 1974.

A proud member of the East Fairmont High School class of 1965, Lee was active in student government, athletics and many school activities. He remained close to his classmates throughout the years and always enjoyed returning to Fairmont.

Proud of this military service, Lee served with distinction in the U.S. Army from 1970-1974, achieving a rank of 1st Lieutenant in Military Intelligence and after active duty, continued to serve in the Reserves until 1978.

Upon his honorable discharge from active duty, Lee pursued a career in international banking and finance where he spent his entire professional life. He achieved executive level management with Pittsburgh National Bank (PNC) in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania and ABN AMRO Bank in Pittsburgh and London, England. In 1999, he became President of Compass Bank in Houston, Texas, and CEO and President Trustmark of Houston from 2003-2006. Lee's work took him all over the world, and he loved meeting people and immersing himself in their language and culture.

Lee dedicated much of his time and talents to the communities where he worked and lived. In Pittsburgh, he was a member of the board of directors for the Parent and Child Guidance Center, the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) McGowan Institute, the Pittsburgh Opera, and he was a graduate of Leadership Pittsburgh, Class II. In Houston, he served on the Board of Directors for St. Thomas University, The Boy Scouts of America-Sam Houston Area Council, and the United Way-Houston.

Lee is survived by his wife of 47 years, Patricia (Pasco) Cutrone, son and daughter- in-law, Christopher and Susanna Cutrone of Bee Cave, Texas and son and daughter-in-law, Cameron and Lauren Cutrone of Kyle, Texas. He was blessed by grandsons Nicholas, David and Samuel Cutrone, all of the Austin area. He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law Patty and Bernie Vingle, sister and brother-in-law Nancy and Dan Radcliff, mother-in-law Millie Talkington, and sister-in-law Linda Knotts, all of Fairmont, and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
