Kay Frances Croom, age 78, passed away Monday, October 8, 2018 in Austin, TX. Kay was an active member of Anderson Mill Baptist Church. At Anderson Mill, she had been a member of the choir and was active in the benevolent ministry of the church.

Kay was born on June 11, 1940 in Oklahoma City. Kay was a graduate of Pauls Valley High School and lived over 50 years in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma only to be interrupted by a brief 4-year stint in Alaska while her husband, Ray, was in the Army. Kay married Ray Croom on June 20, 1958 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. Kay worked for 30 years for Home Security Life Insurance with increasing responsibility and ultimately as the company's Corporate Secretary. Kay finished her career as Insurance Auditor with the State of Texas.

Kay's talents were many. She was an extremely accomplished baker, a wonderful singer, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, community volunteer and friend who loved to entertain. Kay was patient and had a love of people that persevered as evident in her generosity. She connected with people through her infectious smile and heart to feed others not only through her great food but her Godly spirit. Kay felt there was a beauty and a satisfaction in seeing the results of God's work in people and a peacefulness that can comes over us as we care for and nurture others.

Kay is preceded in death by her parents A.W. and Minnie Hutchins, as well as her brother Max Hutchins. Kay is survived by her childhood sweetheart and husband of 60-years Ray; her son Mike and his wife, Margaret; 2 grandsons, Corbin and Aaron Croom; as well as her sister Jean McCurley. Kay leaves behind numerous extended family members and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Anderson Mill Baptist Church, 10633 Lake Creek Pkwy, Austin TX, with Rev. Rod Minor officiating. The family will receive friends after the service.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 1906 S Chickasaw St, Pauls Valley, OK 73075. The family will receive friends after the service at Trinity Baptist Church, 106 N Indian Meridian Rd, Pauls Valley, OK 73075.
