Obituary

Johnny Almanza Ramirez was born on December 27, 1952, in Austin, Texas, and passed away on May 25, 2017. He attended Dolores Catholic School, Stephen F. Austin High School, and Austin Community College. Following high school, he served his country for four years in intelligence gathering while stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War for the U.S. Army.

He was a loving father and son, caring brother, devoted nephew, generous uncle, kind friend, a unique individual. He loved life and everyone he encountered in his many adventures.

John loved and lived life to the fullest. He enjoyed his music and concerts, loved camping and hiking in Colorado, and ran the great outdoors in numerous marathon events. John surrounded himself with family. He introduced new experiences to us all while traveling in Mexico, Colorado, Oregon, and California. John had a delectable taste for new cuisines such as Mediterranean, Japanese, Middle Eastern and shared these dishes with his family. He especially savored his Mexican pan dulce.

We all enjoyed laughing, celebrating and being around him. He was a hard worker who challenged himself every day and everyone around him. He was very energetic. We miss you dearly.

Johnny is preceded in death by his mother Antonia Almanza Ramirez, brother Jesse Ramirez and his Aunt Petra Ramirez. He is survived by his children Benjamin Raimundo Ramirez, (Veronica Ramirez) Amorita Adrianna Ramirez, (Charles Ladwig), Mary Ramirez (his former wife), father Victoriano Ramirez, aunts Leonor Ramirez, Micaela Ramirez, Janie Ramirez, brothers and sisters Josephine Canales, Gregoria Murrieta, (Lee Murrieta), Nat Ramirez, Valentino Ramirez, Mary Ramirez, Justo Ramirez, (Alma Babiano), Carmen Pardo, (Ernest Pardo) and various nieces and nephews.
