Jean (Konieczny) Pitchford
July 22, 1927---January 28, 2017
After a very healthy and jovial 89 years of life, Jean passed away peacefully at her home outside of Austin, Texas after a short battle with cancer. She was surrounded by family and friends and remained positive and grateful through the day of her passing.
Jean spent her childhood in Pennsylvania with many family members still residing in Jerome, Pennsylvania and the surrounding area. She married Don Pitchford and raised a family of three boys in Randolph, New York. Once her boys were raised she entered the workforce and held positions at the Cattaraugus County courthouse and with the United States Postal Service.
Don and Jean retired and moved to central Florida where they enjoyed two decades of relaxation, sunshine and travelling. They moved to the hill country outside of Austin, Texas in 2015 to be closer to family.
Jean is survived by her sister Kathleen, sister in-law Jeanne, her bother Bob and his wife Betty (Betty was one of Jean's most treasured friends and confidents). In addition, she is survived by her loyal husband Don Pitchford (Leander, TX), and their three sons and their families, Dan (Philadelphia, PA) , George (Randolph, NY) and Donnie (Leander, TX).
A memorial service mass, celebrating Jean's life, was held at St Margaret Mary Catholic church in Cedar Park, Texas.
