Jane Petersen Skinner passed away on March 19th in Austin, Texas at the age of 97. Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Dorothy Petersen. Jane was born in Chicago, Illinois on December 29th, 1920.
Jane grew up in Wilmette, Illinois and attended Lake Forest College before moving to Dallas, Texas where she worked as an executive assistant at Neiman Marcus. Jane married Gordon R. Skinner in 1955 and moved to Venezuela South America where she and Gordon lived for eight years. In 1964, Jane and Gordon moved to Oklahoma City where they lived for forty-seven years and raised their children.
Jane was a homemaker, an avid golfer, she loved to sail, and was an accomplished bridge player. Jane attended St. George's and All Soul's Episcopal Church. Jane's life was enriched by the multitude of friends she made along the way.
Jane is survived by her children: Marny Gail Skinner (Saratoga Springs, NY) and Gregg R. Skinner (Austin, TX) and her grandchildren: Trent Skinner, Audrey Letts and Garrison Letts. Her family and friends will miss her dearly.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 21, at 10:30 at All Soul's Episcopal Church, Oklahoma City in the St. Mary's Chapel with the Reverend Jim Easter presiding. Lunch to follow.
