August 28, 1997 - September 15, 2016
Austin, Texas | Age 19
Jacob Sol Lambert, 19, shone his bright light on our lives on the afternoon of August 28, 1997 in Austin, Texas. Jacob was a lifelong resident of Kyle and he lived vibrantly, being passionate about music, bicycling, skateboarding, swimming and an overall appreciation of life and its joys. He existed in this world beloved by many. His middle name was Sol, which is the spanish word for sun, and similar to the sun the light Jacob bestowed was heartwarming and nurturing. In his lifetime, Jacob touched the lives of many people who are saddened by his departure on September 14th, 2016. Although he will be terribly missed, the life Jacob lived was a life filled with laughter and love, and his bright light will continue to shine in the lives of the people who knew and loved him dearly.
Jacob was a jokester and a prankster with an irresistible charm, most notably a prankster from birth where it has been mentioned that he came out of the womb, peeing all over the doctor. It was evident he was gonna be quite the "pisser". Jacob could make you laugh, even if you happened to be mad at him. He loved telling jokes, even if they didn't happen to be funny. A constant prank he loved, was faking "calls from jail" to his grandmother. As a rambunctious child, bathtime often included running circles around his Momo (paternal grandmother), Natividad Lambert, escaping her grasp, naked and giggling. Other parts of his childhood mischief included secretly extinguishing his great-grandmother's, Mami Liva's religious candles, hiding them from everyone and revealing the location only to his Popo (his grandfather, Federico Lambert, Jr). He relished a good costume, like wearing the occasional colored wig to school or sporting a tutu in a store for the sole purpose of cheering a sad friend up. There was even the time he mimicked his sister's school outfit for the day, down to the exact shoes and insisted on a photo to capture the "matching" incident. To this day, we are unsure if the "matching" was intentional or coincidental.
Jacob leaves behind a large loving family: his mother and step-father, Margie Colunga and Robert Lopez; his father and step-mother, Federico Lambert, III and Claudia Camarillo; maternal grandparents, John & Cindy Colunga, paternal grandparents, Federico Jr. & Natividad Lambert; his sister, Angel Lambert, brother-in-law, Ben Mitchell and nephew Nolan Mitchell; two younger brothers, Nicolas Stone & Julian Storm Lambert; his maternal aunts, Priscilla and Michelle Colunga; his paternal uncle and aunt, David & Jeannette Lambert; and an enormous abundance of beloved family and friends. We are blessed to have known his presence in this lifetime.
Jacob will reunite with family members who have preceded him in death, including his great-great grandmother "Mama Liva" Valadez and his aunt Yvette Flores-Ford.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 7:00 pm on Monday, September 19, 2016 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home 2620 South Congress Avenue.
