Obituary

J. Leslie Jankovich
September 17, 1927 – July 30, 2017

Les was born on September 17, 1927 in Budapest, Hungary and passed away on July 30, 2017 in Lakeway, TX. As the oldest of three boys, he started working early to help provide for his family, while attending school. He always prided himself with exceptional dedication to his family and distinguished himself in all of his roles he had assumed throughout his life. When his time allowed, he loved to spend time and share stories with his grandchildren, quietly read, and listen to music.

He immigrated to the U.S. in 1956, and took residence in New York City. He attended Columbia University and after earning his PhD, he worked for MIT. His work took him to several countries and he served in several important roles in Europe, including Belgium, Italy, and Switzerland.

After returning to the US, he took up residency in San Jose, California as a professor of International Business and Management. Through his 30 years of service at San Jose State University, he published several articles and served on numerous boards of advisory committees.

With his devotion to his faith and family, he found peace and strength in believing in resurrection and reuniting with his wife, Rose, in God's kingdom.

He is greatly missed by his daughter, Gabriella, his son-in-law, Imre, his four grandchildren, Cassandra, Christina, Clarissa, and Christopher, and by his youngest brother, John.

The Funeral Mass will take place at 10:00 a.m., on Friday, August 4, 2017, at Emmaus Catholic Church, 1718 Lohmans Crossing, Lakeway, Texas. Burial will be held at Forest Oaks Cemetery.

Requiescat in pace!
