Obituary

Imogene Ruth Hart Hudgins passed away peacefully on May 16, 2018 at the age of 100. Gene was born in Wharton, Texas on May 23, 1917 to Maude Estelle Hart and P.T. Hart. She had two brothers, Clifford and Warren, and one sister, Thelma. She was married to Clay Milton Hudgins who preceded her in death in 1953. They had two daughters, Rebecca Hudgins Brandenburg and Cathy Hudgins Gray.

Gene served as a volunteer at the Westbank Community Library Guild from 1983-2009 and was a Laguna Gloria Art Guild member. She was a member of Westlake United Methodist Church for 37 years.

Lovingly called "Mamaw" by many, Gene was a perfect blend of strength and delicate beauty. She loved the outdoors. Camping, fishing and feeding the deer were some of her favorite pass times. Yet, she was a true lady who loved shopping, dressing up, and looking pretty. She blessed family and friends in her home for many years with her gift of cooking, sharing snacks and good margaritas. Her smile and laugh will be forever missed.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Lester Gray of Kyle, Texas; grandchildren Clay, Becca and husband Isaac, Catherine, Shelley, Mark and wife Cristy; great grandchildren Peyton, Ryan Kate, Clay, Kylee, Thomas, Harper and Jillian; and nephew Freeman Hart.

Visitation will be held at Weed Corley Fish Funeral Home on Tuesday May 22nd from 5-7 PM .Funeral services will be held at Westlake United Methodist Church, 1460 Redbud Trail on Wednesday May 23rd at 10:30 AM.
