Obituary

Gloria A. (Uriegas) Corona, age 77, born on December 2, 1940, and passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 3, 2018.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert R. Corona; parents, Rose and Casimiro Uriegas; sister, Rose Marie Marquez.

Gloria is survived by her sister, Margaret Uriegas; sons, Robert (Connie) Corona and Keith (Terry) Corona; daughters, Kimberly Corona and Katharine (David) McDonald; and eleven grandchildren.

Gloria was a proud military wife, raising her family around the country and the world, wherever her husband's duties in the United States Air Force took them. Gloria will be remembered for the love she had for cooking and baking, the dedication she had for detail in her job and home, and for her love and tender touch for all her grandbabies. She especially enjoyed a good hard Texas thunderstorm. We will miss her smile and laughter and our quiet time with her.

The family would like to give special thanks to her caregivers at Gracy Woods Assisted Living, St. David's North Austin Medical Center, and Hospice Austin's Christopher House.

Serving as Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Christian Corona, William Corona, Shane McDonald, John McDonald, Michael Boeta, and Jacob McDonald.

Honorary Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Camille Corona, Patrick Corona, Sarah Blumenfeld, Zachary Blumenfeld, and Meagan McDonald.

Visitation will be held 6:00 pm- 8:00 pm on Wednesday, March 7 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 2620 South Congress.

Her body will lie in state at San Jose Catholic Church with the Mass of the Christian Burial to begin at 10:00 am, with Reverend Richard Tijerina officiating.

Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
