Obituary

Frank P. Perliski, 81, of Austin, Texas, retired President of Taylor Publishing Co. in Dallas, Texas, died Friday, August 18, 2017, at St. David's Medical Center, Austin, of complications following a long, brave battle with heart failure.

Frank was born January 18, 1936, in Detroit, Michigan, to Genevieve and Francis Perliski. With his Father having tragically passed away before Frank's first birthday, Frank and his older brother Donald grew up with their Mother and Grandmother, attending school and helping the family. Frank began working at the age of 14. He graduated from Detroit Catholic Central High School in 1953, and Wayne State University in 1957. He married Verlyn Christensen in 1959.

Frank and Verlyn moved their family to Dallas, Texas, in 1968. Soon after, Frank began a long and successful career with Taylor Publishing where he made many friends and climbed to the rank of President. Living in Texas, Frank enjoyed his love of the outdoors. Through the years, he fished, hunted, played tennis, and swam. Many summer evenings, he could be found tending to his backyard vegetable garden. In the fall, he enjoyed Sunday afternoons at home watching the Dallas Cowboys.

In retirement, Frank and Verlyn moved to Austin, Texas, and enjoyed watching their grandchildren grow. Frank loved to cook, everything from Caesar salads to Polish pierogies. Frank and Verlyn traveled several times to Europe, and they made a special visit to Italy where they had opportunity to visit the Vatican. Frank and Verlyn were members of Emmaus Catholic Church in Austin.

Frank is survived by his wife, three children, Lori, Nancy, and Greg, and five grandchildren, Ashley, John, Kevin, Cara, and Natalie. He also is survived by his nephew, Dennis, two nieces, Susie and Beth, and many other extended family members. He is preceded in death by his Father, Mother and Brother.

A memorial service will be held in honor of Frank at Emmaus Catholic Church on Sept 2 at 11 AM. Memorial contributions may be made to Detroit Catholic Central High School Annual Fund.
