Esiquio "Zeke" Hernandez Duran was born on July 29, 1948 in Austin, Texas. He passed away on July 24, 2017 in his home, Pflugerville, Texas. He was sixty-eight years old.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cleto Duran and Rebecca Hernandez Duran; his sister, Phyllis Duran Lokey.

Zeke is survived by his wife, Dolores Del Rio Duran; his brothers and sisters, Carrie Garcia (Joe), Jesse Duran (Mary), Gilbert Duran (Adela), Adrian Duran (Corrina), Frances Gallegos (Jeff) and Cleto Duran, Jr. (Blanca); many relatives and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was loved by many. Zeke graduated from Johnston High School and attended Central Texas College near Killeen, Texas. He served in the United States Marine Corps as a Staff Sergeant during the Viet Nam Era. He also served in the Texas National Guard. As a civilian he was a property manager who succumbed in 2003 to serious illnesses related to the Viet Nam Agent Orange condition. Uncle Zekey was loved by all who knew him. He will be missed.

Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 7:00 pm on Friday, July 28, 2017 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 2620 South Congress Avenue.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at Cristo Rey Catholic Church with Reverend Richard Sparks, CSP officiating.

Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
