Edith Jones Ferguson, 93 died of natural causes May 30th at her care home in Pflugerville Texas. She was born in Falkner, Mississippi, May 4, 1924. She was preceded in life everlasting by her husband of 70 years, John R. Ferguson Jr., Mother, Jennie Powell Jones and Father, Howard Lafayette Jones and her sister Mavis Jones Ketchum.

She is survived by her children; Gary and Coleen Ferguson, Vicki and Roy Deskin, Nancy and Eric Swanson, Robert and Kathia Ferguson; her sister Lena Goolsby of Ripley Mississippi and brother Lanier (Alvie) Jones of Memphis Tennessee; Grandchildren, Chris and Paige Deskin, Emily and Josh Lukins, Jenny and Robert Nathanson, Travis Swanson and Liz Rinehart, JC Ferguson and Erin Patterson, Thomas Ferguson and Kim Egner, Trent Rees, Greg and Kimberly Rees, Stephanie and Andy Hood, Melissa Wile and Don Sullivan; Ever-loved Great-Grandchildren Pearl, Maggie and Tate Deskin, Georgia Ferguson, Clara and Henry Nathanson, Kaila Freeman, Meaghan and Taylor Hood, Thomas and Preston Sullivan, Jaz Welch and Dylan Rees.

A soft spoken, incredibly strong, and kind-hearted lady, she lived her life to the fullest. She never fatigued in her efforts to conserve resources, give to others and live an independent, healthy life. She inspired her family and friends through the strength of her faith, and volunteered in various capacities for; the Travis County Election Division, Manos de Cristo, Caritas of Austin, Faded Blue Jeans Ministry and her church, University Presbyterian Church, Austin, Texas.

Her family stands in amazement at her abilities to take meager portions of what was provided and turn it into an abundance beyond reasonable measure.

Celebration of Life - Memorial Services will be held Saturday, June 24th, 3:30 pm at University Presbyterian Church, 2203 San Antonio Street, Austin, TX 78705.
