Obituary

Carl Alexander Bible, Jr. passed from this life into heaven on June 14th, 2018, at the age of 94.

He was born on September 10th, 1923 to Carl Sr. and Lillie Mae Bible in Oak Hill, Texas, and spent his childhood there with his 8 other siblings, of which he was the middle child.

During World War II, at the age of 19, he left home to serve in the United States Marine Corps 1st Marine Division. He served in the South Pacific. He received 2 Purple Hearts, 1 Silver Star, 4 Bronze Stars, American and Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medals, China Service Medal, a Presidential Citation for the Battle of Okinawa, Rifle Expert Badge and Honorable Service Lapel Pin.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Throughout his life he was a home builder, a business owner, and he spent the later decades of his life ranching in central Texas, out in the country where he loved to be.

He was a loving father and grandfather. He is preceded in death by all 8 of his siblings. He is survived by one daughter, Lisa Bible Brown (Mike); three sons: Carl Bible, III, Steven Bible (Marshia), and Rex Bible (Lois). Grandchildren; Melissa & Michelle Brown, Jessica Campbell (James), Stephanie Blay (Corey), Nicole Hoffman (Jason), Janine Winn (Russell), Chrissy Blair (Jim), eight great-grandchildren; many nieces/nephews and one sister-in-law, Elaine Bible.

Special thanks to the staff at the Temple VA Hospital and Hospice Care.

Services will be Friday June 22, 2018 at 11:00 at Weed-Corley-Fish, 1200 S. Bagdad Road, Leander. Private burial at 3:00 for immediate family. Pastor Ross Hartsfield will officiate.

Pallbearers; Rex Bible, Steve Bible, Carl Bible, III, Mike Brown, W.L. Stribling and Frank Bates.

Casual Dress: Red, White and/or Blue.

In lieu of flowers, charitable donations may be made to Wounded Warriors, Disabled Veteran's or a charity of your choice.
