Obituary

Billie Ruth (Sites) Lanpher, 87, of Pflugerville, Texas passed away on March 25, 2018, surrounded by family. She was born in Karnes City, Texas on October 24, 1930 to Minnie Myrtle Rader and James Benjamin Sites, and raised among a family with proud roots in the Central Texas community. As a young adult, she moved to Austin with her parents where she later married and raised three children: Jim Stewart, Joyce (Stewart) Partee, and Bobby Stewart. Ruth worked as a switchboard operator at Austin's Breckenridge Hospital for 30 years; retiring from that position in 1986.

On May 28, 1976, she married Arthur Wesley Lanpher and together they traveled the United States. From Maine to Hawaii, they camped, cruised and collected antique clocks; truly enjoying their golden years together. A proud grandmother of 5 grandsons, Ruth was generous with her love, time, and the type of advice that only a grandmother could get away with.

Ruth was preceded in death by her brother Ernest Benjamin Sites, her father James Benjamin Sites, her mother Minnie Myrtle Rader, and her husband Arthur Wesley Lanpher. She is survived by her three children and their spouses: Jim and Karen Stewart of Austin, Joyce (Stewart) and Frank Partee of Lexington, and Bobby and Gloria Stewart of Pflugerville. She is also survived by grandsons Jason Stewart, Michael Partee and wife Rebecca, Timothy Partee and wife Sandy, Jordan Stewart and wife Katie, and Zachary Stewart. Her four great-grandchildren are a legacy to her love for family and children: Cassie and Chase Partee and Caleb and Haley Partee.

The family is forever grateful to Maria Ester Rodriguez Lopez and family for their love, care, and enduring friendship.

Visitation will be on Thursday, March 29, 2018 from 12:00 to 2:00 pm with a chapel service following at 2:00 pm Thursday at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 3125 North Lamar Blvd, Austin. Interment will follow the service at Austin Memorial Park.
