Obituary

On January 5th of 2019 Beatriz Ibarra ended her fight with Alzheimer's and left this world to be with the Lord.

She was born in Laredo, Texas in March of 1939 to Isidro and Amalia Gonzalez.

She was one of four siblings, Ricardo Gonzalez, Ramiro Gonzalez (Deceased) and Amalia Gonzalez Mejares.

She graduated from Martin High School in 1957 and then married Jose Ramon Ibarra on September 3rd 1961 and moved to Austin Texas while he attended the University of Texas at Austin.

They bought a home in Travis Heights on Mission Ridge and lived there for the next 35 years until his untimely passing in 1996. She worked for the IRS Appeals Department for 34 years. After Jose's passing she moved to Wilson / El Paso Street and became a great and loved member of the neighborhood growing and sharing lots of Cactus plants which are still all over the hood. She remained active at San Jose Church and continued her travels around the world especially her favorite place Las Vegas until she was no longer able to Travel. She enjoyed a full life and is survived by her sons, Joseph Michael Ibarra, George Raymond Ibarra; daughter, Araceli Josett Ibarra. Daughter-in-laws. Maria Fernanda Ibarra and Elizabeth Ibarra. Son-in-law, Enrique Flores. She had three grandchildren, David Jimenez, Ramon and Bianca Flores.

Those who were fortunate to know Beatriz knew her as a person who was kind and loving character with her own ways of living. She never pretended to be anything other than herself and had her own way of making people feel loved. If you knew her, you would know what I mean. She will be missed by those who knew her and as the lady who loved to talk with all the neighbors on Wilson Street.
