Arthur L. Davis, Jr., Major USAF (retired) passed away on January 29, 2017.
Art was born in Yazoo City, Mississippi on August 30, 1934 to Moselle Brown Davis and Arthur L. Davis, Sr. He received his B.S. from Parks College of Engineering and then received his 2nd Lt. commission to the Air Force. A loyal servant to God and country, Art served domestically and in Iceland, Germany, France, England, the Philippines, the Vietnam conflict, and Washington D.C. He then completed a distinguished aviation career with Boeing Aircraft before moving to Austin in 1994.
Joan, Art's wife of thirty-four years, predeceased him in 2006. He is survived by his brother, the Rev. George B. Davis, and his wife Jean.
His family gives heartfelt thanks for the dedication, skill, and loving care of his physician Robert Gower, and all the staff at Brookdale Northwest Hills Senior Living.
The family will receive visitors at Weed-Corley-Fish, 3125 N. Lamar, Austin, Texas from six to eight o'clock in the evening on Friday, February 3, 2017. Graveside service will be Saturday, February 4, 2017 at one o'clock in the afternoon in Austin Memorial Park. A memorial service to celebrate Art's life will then be held at Covenant Presbyterian Church Chapel at two o'clock in the afternoon.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to Covenant Presbyterian Church, Cure Alzheimer's Fund (34 Washington Street, Suite 200, Wellesley Hills, MA 02481), or a charity of your choice.
