Ann Stayton Heiligenthal Lewis passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Friday, April 7, 2017. She was born on January 26, 1926 in Austin to Hallie Robertson Stayton and Judge Robert Weldon Stayton.
She attended Stephen F. Austin High School and later the University of Texas, where she pledged Kappa Kappa Gamma. She was a lifelong member of All Saints Episcopal Church and active in the Junior League of Austin and the Colonial Dames of America. She loved gardening, bird watching and was a lifelong bridge player. Ann's family and friends were the focus and joy of her life.
Ann was preceded in death by her sisters, Betty Stayton Elwell Penn, Eleanor Stayton Gammon and Hallie Stayton Evans; her husbands, Paul E. Heiligenthal and William D. Lewis; and her daughter-in-law, Susan Feller Heiligenthal.
She is survived by her children, Paul J. Heiligenthal and Louise Heiligenthal of Austin and Jean Heiligenthal Wright of Dallas; her grandchildren, Ann Wright of Dallas, Stayton Wright and wife Monique, Spence Wright, Laura Heiligenthal all of Austin, and Kaki Heiligenthal Strange and husband John of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Weldon and Bennett Wright; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at All Saints Episcopal Church, 209 W. 27th Street in Austin, Thursday, April 13th at 3:00pm.
