Obituary for Alvis "Rocky" Riddle

December 5, 1954 - May 13, 2017
Spicewood, Texas | Age 62

Alvis "Rocky" W. Riddle, age 62, passed away unexpectedly on May 13, 2017.

Rocky was born in Houston, Texas on December 5, 1954, and was currently residing with his wife Linda in Spicewood, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his father Alvis William Riddle, his mother Helen, and his brother, Bill Riddle.

Rocky is survived by his wife of more than 35 years, Linda, along with their 3 children – Matthew and his wife Robyn, Alex and Lauren, his brothers, Jimmy Riddle, Robert Riddle, and David Riddle, and many nieces and nephews. His sister-in-laws Amy and husband Gary Krone, and Stephanie McFarland. He will also be greatly missed by his beloved dog, Sadie Belle Riddle.

Rocky loved life and experienced it to the fullest. Blessed with a wonderful sense of humor that could turn any bad mood into a good one, and a heart the size of Texas. He was a "man's man" and spent much of his life serving others before himself. He was an incredible cook, who always found joy in cooking for others. He loved any kind of outdoor activity, including golf, hunting, fishing and traveling. Linda is especially grateful for the time they could spend together with all the children on Mother's Day weekend (a surprise planned by Rocky) before the Lord called him home.

The Riddles were members of Jersey Village Baptist Church for 22 years, and remain close to their church family there. After moving to Spicewood in 2014, they joined Lake Hills Church and are active members there.

Rocky was retired at the time of his passing, but worked for many years in the automotive industries, and was a jack of many trades.

A memorial service to celebrate Rocky's life will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, May 18th, 2017 in the Chapel at Champion Forest Baptist Church at 16518 Jersey Drive, Jersey Village, Texas, 77040.

The family wishes to express their gratitude for all the family and friends who reached out to them at this most difficult time.
