Al graduated from Alvin High School, Sam Houston, and attended the University of Texas, studying for a Master's in Business Administration. Al was a devoted husband and dedicated father of his two children, James Edward Jimmerson and Amy Kaye Gehm. Al is survived by his son, James Jimmerson, and wife Wendy Jimmerson, grandchildren Abby, Blake, Hayley, and Will Jimmerson; daughter Amy Gehm and spouse Jon Gehm, grandchildren Carter and Ryan Gehm; his sister JoAnn Jonas and the Jonas family; and the Munson family.

Al's interment will occur at Memorial Oaks Cemetery located at 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77079 on Friday, February 2, 2018 at 2:30 p.m. A memorial celebration of Al's life will be held on Friday, February 2, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. at St. Luke's United Methodist Church chapel, 3471 Westheimer Road, Houston, Texas 77027 with a reception following immediately thereafter at the Hines Baker Room at St. Luke's.
