Jan was one of the more interesting and intrigueing people in the old New Orleans Science Fiction Association. She will be missed by all of us here.

I believe I can speak for all of Jan's old New Orleans science fiction friends when I say that we are deeply saddened to hear of her passing.

We attended UNO together (I believe we met in a philosophy class) and stayed in touch for several years thereafter. Unfortunately I lost contact with her in the late 70's.

I treasured her insight and knowledge. She always had an interesting perspective, regardless of what we discussedand discussions broached hundreds of subjects. I tried several times to locate her online, in hope of comparing notes on life, but never managed to do so, and now it is too late.

Her later accomplishmentsas poet, artist, linguist, and musician--are not surprising at all, even though I don't associate her with any of those things; they sound like natural evolutions of the inquisitive and highly intelligent person I knew.

Her memory lives on in those of us who knew her. She was one of those unforgettable people. We miss you, Jan!

I knew Jan years ago, in New Orleans when went to school there; I believe she got that Philosophy degree from UNO. She was kind and wonderful, particularly as I was quite wthdrawn and shy; she helped, a little, out of my shell. She was a good woman. She still has many friends here who remember her. I had dinner with several of them last night; this news saddened all.

One I know in particular would like to convey his condolences to Art; Art, if you read this, please contact me by email and I will forward you details.
