Condolence & Memory Journal

The 50 cold and hungry guests were lined up and ready to be fed. Del took one look around at the other volunteers, and said, "I'll serve." He picked up a plate with one hand and a serving spoon with the other, and asked the first man in line, "What will you have, sir?" Del dipped the first spoonful onto the man's plate. After that first dip, he coordinated the rest of that evenings servings. On other Freeze Nights, Del spent time looking after the guests while offering them cookies from a platter he carried through Howson Hall.

He won't be forgotten.
