Tribute & Message From The Family

Niece left us peacefully surrounded by family and friends at her home in Lakeway, TX on March 6, 2019. She was 76 years old, born in San Antonio, TX on January 30, 1943.

A graduate of Texas State University in 1965 with a BS in Education, she was a member of Strutters and other campus groups. She went on to teach in San Antonio and Austin. Niece was blessed with kindness and patience in the classroom which endeared her to her students. She made learning fun! In 1967 she married Robert C. Laws and in 1971 they made Lakeway their home.

Throughout her life Niece loved to read and explore new ideas. She was always current on world events and style trends. She had an excellent eye for design and enjoyed tasking brush to canvas with vivid color and artistic expression. Her greatest joy was entertaining family and friends in her home. She had particular pride in her contribution every year to designing centerpieces for the banquet tables at the Bob Mayberry Cancer Foundation Gala.

Bob and Niece were small business owners, developers of commercial real estate in the Lakeway area and enjoyed participation in civic organizations. Niece contributed over 20 years of time and talent to the success of Lakeway Valero and Lakeway Merchant Park.

Niece is survived by her husband of 52 years, Bob Laws; daughter, Stacey Elyce Miller and husband Charles of Lakeway; 2 sons, Robert Jason Laws and wife Heidi of Leander and Joel Frank Laws of Lakeway; 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Gail Conatser and husband Roger of San Antonio and Shirley Bray of Lavernia TX. She is predeceased by her parents, Lionel and Edith Fincke and her brother, Julius Fincke.

The family wishes to give special thanks to "Niece's Angels," Cheryl Davies, Deborah Donahue, Ivana Sorrell Krause, Sandy Lairsen and Holly Spiller. A close group of friends that spent many hours with her during her final days at Baylor Scott & White, BSW Rehabilitation and return home. Also, it's difficult to express the heartfelt gratitude for the caregivers from Valerian Home Health & Hospice that were with us in her final hours. The love and support was overwhelming and we are forever grateful.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 22, 2019 at the Weed Corley Fish Event Center located at 411 Ranch Road 620 South, Lakeway, TX 78734. For information please call 512 263-1511.

A Celebration of Niece's Life will be held at the Law's residence at 212 Far Vela Lane, Lakeway TX 78734, a gated community, gate code#1941, 512-263-7075.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to an animal rescue organization of choice.

I thought of you with love today
but that is nothing new
I thought about you yesterday
and the day before that too
I think of you in silence
I often speak your name
and all I have are memories
and these pictures in a frame
Your memory is my keepsake
with which I will never part
God has you in his keeping
I have you in my heart
