Tribute & Message From The Family

Billy Archie Davis, 90, of Leander went to be with his Lord on Wednesday March 6, 2019, surrounded by loved ones. Billy was born March 14, 1928 in Florence, Texas to Mabel Maud George and Archie D. Davis. Billy completed 10th grade and served in the United States Army as a Sergeant 1st Class in the Korean War where he earned the Bronze Star for valor. Billy married his best friend and soul mate Faye Carter on July 2, 1953.

Billy went to work for Shell Oil Company in 1954 where he earned a diploma in the Principles of Surveying. Billy moved to Jollyville in 1969, then, after retiring from Shell Oil, he moved his family to Leander. He worked for Mac Tools and for B.G. Products before retiring for good. Pawpaw/Billy loved his family dearly. He was a die-hard NASCAR fan for years. He was a Longhorn fan and always a Dallas Cowboy fan no matter how bad they were playing. He was the #1 fan of whichever of his great grandchildren were playing a sport at the time.

Billy is preceded in death by his parents, Mabel Maud George and Archie D. Davis; as well as his brothers Dick, George, and Clarence Jr.; and sisters, Jerry, Dorothy, and Marjorie.

Billy is survived by his wife of 66 years, Faye Carter; his son, Mike and Mike's wife, June; daughter, Debbie and her husband, Greg ; three beautiful granddaughters, Jessica, Jannice, and Stacy; and two awesome grandsons, Joshua and Paul. He also had 12 great grandchildren whom he loved dearly and many nieces and nephews. He was loved by many and will be sorely missed by all who knew him well.
