To my friend and colleague, am proud to have been instrumental in recruiting you to become Austin's first Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation physician. You started it all in your field for Austin. Rest in Peace.

Dear Helga,family and friends
My deepest sympathies for your loss. May you receive blessings of strength and comfort. The service was beautiful. I remember being fairly new to the Shoal Creek Ward. One Sunday, I was fidgeting during sacrament meeting, though I didn't realize I was. Brother Simonsen came up to me afterwards and said that he noticed I kept shifting and asked if I had back problems. I did and was amazed he noticed such a little thing. He asked me to make an appt, I did, he taught me McKenzie, which greatly improved my back pain for years to come. I am forever grateful and touched by his kindness.

In addition to his many professional and civic accomplishments, Rod raised an outstanding family. His children are a blessing to their communities and their families in many ways following their Father's example. His positive influence will be felt through generations.

Rod was a doctors doctor. He worked very hard to bring the most up to date rehabilitation techniques to Austin . A McKenzie spine expert, he kept many patients out of the OR and improving. When he ask me to help him with joint replacements, he pretty much ignored my conservative post op recommendations and managed his own rehab.Gods speed Rod.
