Tribute & Message From The Family

John Theodore Stott (b. 1970) died on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at an age far too young after a three-year battle with cancer. John was an intelligent, charming, thoughtful man with an extraordinary eye for design who enjoyed architecture, hiking, biking, road trips, international travel, swimming, live music, seeking out natural hot springs, and spending time with friends, family and his dog, Bodi.

John served his country as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the Republic of Yemen from 1992 - 1994. He graduated from Cedarburg High School in Cedarburg, Wisconsin in 1988, earned an undergraduate degree in finance from Marquette University in 1992 and a Master's degree in urban planning from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 1999. Though he did not define his life by the work he did, he found work meaningful and worked with wonderful colleagues at the State of Wisconsin Department of Revenue and Legislative Fiscal Bureau, Duncan & Associates in Austin, Texas, and the Texas Department of Transportation.

John is survived by his husband Lee Clippard, their daughter Harper, his parents Ted and Marie Stott, his sisters Lorry Liesenberg and Karen Smith, and a large loving community of friends and extended family. He will be missed by all.

Friends and family will honor John's life at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, 4801 La Crosse Ave, on Sunday, February 24, 2019 at 1 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, please consider giving flowers every day by donating to the Wildflower Center (wildflower.org/donate) in John's name.
