To daughter, Paula: I only met your mom once at Yoakum, but she was the sweetest thing. Please know that you and Tom are n my thoughts and prayers. Ah-go-nay, my friend.

Youngkins all, although I only got to know your mom in her last years at Belmont Village, it was clear that she was a remarkable woman! Her kind, welcoming spirit and impish sense of humor made my daily visits to my dad, Hodgie, so special. She accepted the fleas and ticks of life after 90 with grace and optimism. May your memories of her long life sustain you in the days ahead, and remember always that the love she leaves behind is far greater than what her death takes away.

Gonna miss ya, Mom. You are the best that ever there was. Your light burns in all who knew you, and even though you're gone, you're still alive in my heart and always will be. Godspeed.

Dear Betty, I want to thank you for your welcoming of me and inclusive nature to being a part of your family. I have so enjoyed being able to be a part of your life, the part that I was able to share with you and PI and all of the Youngkins. Your artistic nature, playfulness and warmth have added a lot to my life. You have surprised me on many occasions with your fun wit. I shouldn't be surprised though, having been able to share time with your children and have enjoyed what you have obviously passed on to them. Lot's of fun and love is there with each and every one of them. I so appreciate the time that I have had to enjoy you. Lot's of love forever, Shelley Veltrop (Madsen).
