Condolence & Memory Journal

Arthur and I both wept at the news of your lovely Barb's passing. Will, we love you both dearly and are forever thankful for having you as neighbors/cheerleaders in Austin. We can't remember Barb not smiling; it seems that if sunshine could incarnate... it would be Barb. She touched so many, so deeply...and so very specially Arthur and I. Know that we cherish you and our memories of both you and dear Barb. Donna Spence and Arthur Gibert, St. Louis, Missouri

Dearest Will and boys, so saddened by your loss...I had heard that Barbara was suffering from ALS...such a terrific disease...I can remember the boys growing up and playing ball, spending the night at each other's house, and us trying to be a parent...Barbara was a wonderful mother,as well as a wife...you and all the family will be in my thoughts and prayers..I can picture that smile on her face as she enters the kingdom of heaven..how glorious it is...in His love, Georgia and Dan Brown

I met Barb and Will through my daughter, Diane Izard. I only had the pleasure of knowing them for several years (during my visits to Austin). My best time was during a SS Class Party. She might not be able to talk but, my, she could write. Loved her and her constant smile, and that's how I'll always remember her. She was indeed a blessing to all who had the honor of knowing her. My prayers are with you, Will and family.

It is hard to describe barbara to someone who didn't know her, because she was obviously filled with more love than the rest of us, but seemed perfectly normal. But in reality was normally perfect. Love forever.

I'm heartbroken to learn of Barbara's passing. Having worked with her at Riverbend I was always amazed at her love for the students and her willingness to give of herself. The lives she touched will be forever enriched. Thank you, Barbara-for the joy and light you shined on every life you touched. Rest peacefully in His arms.

Dear Will,
This is Mark & Elaine Reynolds. Ann Lacy sent me a note letting us know about Barbara's passing. Our heart is saddened to hear this news. Barbara was such a vibrant individual. We saw Nancy Grayson this week & were reminiscing about the Parenting Group. We were so bad, we all took the class twice. Our teacher was Wayne Ball. Please know that we are praying for you & your family. Our love goes out to you & we grieve with you. We have no doubt that Barbara is in the loving arms of our Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ.
Love,
Elaine & Mark Reynolds

Barbara was a Denison classmate of mine. We were thrilled to have her with us on campus at the 50th Reunion in May 2018. Her courage and positive outlook as she faced her health problems head on inspired many of us those three days in Granville. May she now be at peace and may her family remember her as the loving person she was.

We had the pleasure of knowing Barbara for about 6 months as we gave her medication for her ALS. She was an absolute joy to get to know and we were honored to care for her.
