Condolence & Memory Journal

It was the greatest of good fortune for the Kellam-Cage clan when Jack Mayo joined us those 50 plus years ago. He brought to all of our family, close and more distant, his good cheer, his personal stability, and his empathetic and understanding friendship. It has been with admiration and pride that we watched his many life accomplishments, with his family, in his professional career, and in his exemplary life in and for Rotary.
I well remember the joy of mother Doris when she met Jack and found that he and Nita Louise were destined to be a couple. Her judge of character was always sound, and she knew that her beloved niece Nita Louise had found a wonderful life partner. And it has been a wonderful life partnership, ended too soon but so enriching along the journey. Nita Louise and children, remember all of the good times and be brave and strong, as Jack would expect and desire. Love, Hobson

What a sad day. Jack was a friend from the Navy League and Rotary. He did wonderful things by working to help others. Fair winds to all the family. Max Miller, Austin, Texas

What a marvelous life and career! Meeting Jack and his family on the recent cruise was a delightful experience. He and I had found common ground in Navy PAO assignments. How sad that our friendship was so brief. Bruce Jayne (and wife Sarah), Saluda, NC

Candle

My Dad led a good and honorable life; he made a difference in the world; he tried (every day) to be a better person than he was the day before; he didn't denied his faults; he didn't judge others; he understood humanity better than most.

He live his life according to the four-way test: Of the things we think, say or do Is it the TRUTH? Is it FAIR to all concerned? Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS? Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?

with hugs from my heart, Carolyn Lee
