Condolence & Memory Journal

Next door neighbors to Mr. And Mrs. Clarke on Sunset in Lufkin, TX. Lovely people to live by when I was younger. She was a class act with a beautiful smile I will never forget.

Still extremely thankful for the Schulze's donation of land to the Anderson Mill Gardeners and Memorial back in 1961 and 1965.

Daphene was one of my Mother's best friends. When my Mom passed away in 1993, Daphene became an even closer part of those days so long ago. I was blessed to visit the Schulze Ranch and enjoy big Tom's playing the piano and entertaining us. And years later, my husband David and I were blessed to visit Daphene and George in Lufkin . They were so cute. Interested in everybody and everything . As a young adult, I had lived and worked in New York City. Daphene never stopped wanting to know about New York and the latest fashion, etc. And we couldn't wait each year to receive their holiday card George had designed on the computer. What a beautiful, adorable, fashionable lady. Oh I'm going to miss her.

Don and I are so blessed to have been friends with Daphene. She was the epitome of beauty, grace, and dignity, displayed by unselfish love. Her love of family was always evident.
We remember fondly being at dances with her and George in the ballroom in Nacogdoches and Cotillion Club in Lufkin and continued friendship through the years. She will be missed.
We pray God's comfort for all the family.

Tom and family, so sad to hear of your mother's passing. She was a kind and beautiful lady. I have fond memories of her from our childhood in Brykerwoods and later at the Schulze Ranch. You were very fortunate to have had her for 102 years. May the memories of her help sustain you and your family. Your friend and patient, Alan Curtis.

Daphene was a friend of my mother's. She was such a warm and vivacious lady! I still have my copy of The Happy Window from 1975. Prayers for her family. I know she will be greatly missed.

I knew your mother when she was at PineCrest in Lufkin. Such an amazing soul. Such a beautiful lady inside and out. Kim Davis

I was so fortunate to know Mrs. Clarke when I worked at PineCrest Retirement Community in Lufkin. She was one of the most gracious, beautiful ladies I've ever known. Just being in her presence always made a person feel happy, and I always came away from our visits feeling enriched and inspired by her warm and happy nature. The world has lost a very special lady, but heaven has gained a true angel.
