Tribute & Message From The Family

Goodbye Gorgeous.

Mother, wife, sister, friend, life of the party, bosom buddy, partner in crime and best friend to many. No get together will ever be the same without your boisterous laugh, no room as bright without your radiant smile, no heart as full without your boundless love. Our only joy is knowing you will be waiting for us on the other side of the pearly gates, cocktail in hand, ready to have some fun.

You were loved by so many, and gave love to so many in turn. Always ready with a witty quip or prepared with sage advice. A shoulder to lean on and a healing heart. A teacher until the very end - you taught us all so many lessons… that you can be brave in the face of battle, that you can fight with grace, that you can love without reservation, that lifting up others makes us greater, that seeing the beautiful is more rewarding than seeing the faults. We will carry these teachings on and spread your goodness and light so that everyone continues to be touched by your wisdom and virtue.

Your husband Greg (your rock and comfort), children Danielle and Austin (the light and joy in your days), sisters Shelli, Annie & Stephanie (forever friends), your dad Willie (the lone ranger) and Betty and Tony (less like in laws and more like parents), your very large extended family on both sides, your dearest friends Amy, Kristi, Mary, Ivy (and all their less better halves ;-)), your Bunko Babes, your Mullet Mamas and the entire elementary school that is Casis will miss you dearly. We are made glorious for having known you, basking in the light you shone on us and will continue to shine on us. We will leave a place at every card table, promise to prepare for dinner while we are still eating breakfast, we will always be "in" for everything, we will cheer on the Longhorns at every chance, and most important, we will remember we are all perfect, just the way we are. Thank you for shining your love on us and leaving us full with the glory of it.

We do not mourn your passing, instead we celebrate your life. Well-lived, well, loved and truly one of a kind. Goodbye gorgeous, until we meet again.

If you would like to celebrate the life of Denise Dvorak, join us Saturday, January 26th at 3 pm at Covenant Presbyterian Church, located at 3003 Northland Drive, Austin, TX 78757. There will be a reception immediately following the service in the Fellowship Hall.

Flowers are welcome at the church or in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Big Friends Network, a nonprofit supporting cancer research and cancer patient support.

Denise touched our family's lives first as Ted's then Sophie's kindergarten teacher in her "Dvorak Dolphins" classes, and then over many years in the halls and many events among the Casis family. Sophie & Ted felt that Mrs. Dvorak made them feel special and that was school was interesting and fun. There's no question that her positive outlook and sense of humor lifted everyone around her.

I am terribly sorry for your loss. I will always have the memories of Denise and Joyce having such fun and laughs on "Heartbreak Ridge" at D F. Denise was truly one of the sweetest ladies I ever met and I look forward to Joyce and I seeing her again.
